Dining at DELIcious restaurant

Alright this is a late post because I was too lazy to transfer the pictures in the memory card to my laptop. Ya... blame it on my idleness. Hehe

While we were in KL, my sis and her bf brought us to dine in DELIcious restaurant at Jalan Tun Razak along with her friends. Well, it was our first time dining there. We love the place the moment we stepped in. What I like the most is the ambiance. It was great and it is really suitable for couple's romantic dinner as well for a small gathering with friends.

I really love this!

IMG_5051

The food portion is really big but it comes with a reasonable price. Worth paying for it.

Honestly, I was more towards the desserts section. I don't know why, but desserts always have some kind of spell on me. Haha! Every time I browse through a menu, I found myself looking at the dessert section first than the main course. And I always have a hard time choosing which to have.

I love the Banana Pudding with Caramel syrup. There is this dessert with some strawberries on top, but I did not write down the name. Heard from my sis it tasted great. Unfortunately, we did not ordered that as we were actually quite full.

Well, I guess I need to try that on the next trip down to KL. Would like to dine here once more!

Hai Nan Town Restaurant

A couple of weeks ago, my relatives were traveling out to Penang from KL. I remembered vividly how often they would travelled to Penang ever since I was young & me and my sisters would get all excited waiting for them to arrive. They will never missed the chance to visit Penang specially on special occasions like Chinese New Year.

They were here for 3 days 2 nights. If my memory serves me right, Saturday was their last day in Penang so we decided to have lunch with them before they depart for their journey. My sister recommended for lunch at Hai Nan Town Restaurant located by the jetty at Weld Quay (between Queen Elizabeth II & ferry terminal). I bet just like me, you will be captivated with the stunning view of the marina, Church Street Pier & QE II as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant itself.

Hai Nan Town Restaurant serves Nyonya & Hainanese delicacies. For your info, the menu here is halal (pork-free). Okay now, time to let the photos do all the talking...

Overall, I'm satisfied with the food. It does come with authentic nyonya & hainanese taste. For those who are truly looking forward to satisfy their discerning taste buds with typical Nyonya & Hainanese dishes with a good ambience of the restaurant & a nice marina view with sea breeze blowing, this is one you should never missed out!

A brief update..

Sorry folks!! Was away for the past few weeks for my training. I'm back now anyway. I've realised I'm becoming idle in updating after been away from the blogging world for these period of time. PROCRASTINATING, procrastinating & procrastinating!! Hmmm..

Anyway, me and my other half went to watch "Storm Warriors II" yesterday night at Gurney Plaza. Quite surprised by the amount of cars in the parking lot. Cinema was quite full as well. I've enjoyed the show but frankly speaking, I still think the first series has a better storyline. Overall, I think Simon Yam has the most dialogue throughout the movie compared to Aaron Kwok & Ekin Cheng. Kinda disappointed and it seems like movies based on comics seems like never ending. So.. let's wait for the third one!

Will update soon with more pictureSsss... Stay tuned!

What a day!

12th November 2009, around 7.30 - 8 p.m :

Car broke down in the middle of a traffic jam. While I was driving back from Queensbay Mall, I've realized that it's getting hot in the car. Hot air is coming out from the air-con, then suddenly I noticed that the needle in my car temperature gauge went up to the red zone and white smoke is coming out from my car hood. Worst thing was I am not only stuck in a traffic jam but I was somewhere near the roundabout. I knew that this was a bad place to pull over when there was just only two lanes to use. *Imagine how congested it would be* On the other hand, I knew that if I did not pull over, my car would really be in a deep trouble.

Without hesitating, I turned off the engine. Put on the hazard lights. Waited for a few minutes to let the car cool down. I panicked because I was scared that the car engine might explode within any seconds. *Wild imagination huh* Called my mum, told her everything and asked have I check and filled in water into the coolant reservoir tank? I said it has already been filled a few weeks ago. I remembered it vividly so does my baby.

Restart the engine and drove my car quickly to a safe spot rather than in a congested road before the temperature gauge gets close to the red zone. I examined the coolant reservoir tank and realized that the water level is quite low. But it's not possible because I knew me and baby just refilled it not long ago. Well, maybe it's possible as well since we used this car quite often.

Anyway, I refilled the tank with water. *it would always be safe to leave a bottle of water in the car, in case of emergency* Waited for a few minutes before restarting the engine. Watch the temperature gauge obsessively in case the needle approaches the red zone again.

But fortunately, everything seems fine on the way back. Thank God! What a day huh!! But it's a great learning experience.

PHOP

PHOP

Today, I went to Queensbay with my mum and my eldest sis. My sis decided to bring us to Paddington House of Pancakes for lunch. It is my first try, so does my mum. They have a wide variety of mouth-watering pancakes in their menu, from starter to main course to dessert. My immediate response when I browse the menu was I would really like to order each of the pancakes listed there. I really had a hard time making up my mind on which one to order as there are so many choices.

In the end, three of us opt for the new promotion that they have just launched past 2 weeks, PHOP's Around-The-World Set Lunch. I forgot the name of the pancakes (main course) they do offered in the set lunch but it come with a free beverage and a special dessert, PHOP's mini dollar pancake sundae. All these are available for only RM13.80++ per set and it is only available during weekdays from 12 - 3 pm. *I am sorry about this post with no photos because I forgot to recharge my camera's battery. Ugh!!*

I'm amazed by how you can do so much with a simple pancake by adding a twist to it. I guess it's time for some kitchen experiment on this. Overall, a thumbs up!

And I can't wait to savor on more of their pancakes on the next trip with my baby.

My Japs Friends

I have a wonderful, amazing sweet Japanese friends! Never regret the chance of getting to know them as they really plays a part in colouring my life. I hope they would stumble across my blog and read this post, realizing how much I miss them and reminisce those moments that we shared!! I'm glad that all of us get along very well.

I miss my flatmate, Akemi who is a good cook & typically has no temper at all. *I'm serious about the temper thingy* She's just like a sister to me. And my sweet babe Ayumi. Of course Yuki, Hanae, Kyoko, Yumi, Nagisa & Makiko too. They too, are totally like Akemi who shows no temper tantrums in spite of what situations they are facing. They are just so..... calm.

Does all Japanese are trained to be free from temper tantrums?? I wonder how they do that. I guess they really do have a high tolerance level than any of us here.

Fettes Park Baptist Kindy's Concert

A couple of weeks ago, Fettes Park Baptist Kindergarten organized a kindy's concert. I volunteered to be as a helper for the concert. Prior to the concert, I was asked to help to guide the kids in their schoolwork (one of the class) for few days as a chance to get to know the kids and vice versa. It was definitely a few days which I enjoyed! My baby offered his service to be a traffic warden to ease the traffic outside the church on the day of the concert itself as there will be lots of parents showing up to watch their kids performing.

DSC00425 copy

Basically I was there to lend a hand in changing their costumes, tie their hair and applying make-up for the kids. At the same time, I had fun playing with the kids. Though they might be naughty at times and some are uncontrollable *headache*, yet they still look adorable.

A few are my favorite ones.

Overall, FPBK put up an amazing concert and I can see that all the parents are enjoying the performance and so do I. I bet the parents are surely proud of their children as the kids really did a great job!

I think I would like to be a kindergarten teacher when I am retired from my working world for I believe with kids around, it creates a healthy work environment as you get to be a part of their world of innocence and purity. Besides that, you get a chance to laugh with them, think their way and enjoy their "innocently silly and healthy mischievous' behavior". I trust that this could serves as an effective stress buster! Don't you agree??

Happy 2nd Anniversary My Babykia!!

October 15th 2009 marked our two years of being together as a couple. Instead of the usual ways such as having a romantique candlelight dinner at some enlisted fancy restaurant filled with good food or wine or going for a romantic getaway for the weekend or giving a romantic surprise gift to each other, we decided to celebrate our anniversary in a very different manner by having a food feast at Gurney Drive.

Untitled-1
We ordered Asam Laksa, Muar Chee, See Kua Ting, Fried Lok-Lok, Soy Bean while we save the best for the last - Rojak as our dessert. We managed to feast on all these mouth-watering food with the cost of only RM20+. Cheap and fulfilling yet we enjoy it to much extent and loving every moment of it!

I know it may not be the ideal way of celebrating one's anniversary for some women, but I think one need not always have an expensive taste to make your anniversary special. Sometimes we can use romantic and inexpensive ideas for an anniversary to celebrate all these years of togetherness.

In my personal viewpoint, what is right for your anniversary is totally up to you regardless of how you celebrate. An anniversary celebration is one of love and togetherness, a time to honor the love that you both share. I don't mean that anniversary is the only time to honor your blooming love, as everyday is a time to rejoice and commemorate the hills and valleys that you both have quell in your love's journey. But anniversary celebration obviously play some important milestone in your relationship as it profess your allegiance to your partner as well as allows both of you to have a glimpse into the future and a look back into the past.

As you come up with ways to make your anniversary special in any way you can, always remember the most important thing....... enjoy each other's company!!

Dining at Vintage Bulgaria

Past few weeks ago, my friends (Leng & Jay) invited me and my baby to have dinner at Ingolf. Unfortunately, Ingolf was full so we gotta find some other restaurant to dine. Just a couple of shops away, there was this Bulgarian restaurant. So, we decided to dine there since we never even been to that restaurant even though we passed there so many times.

IMG_4787

I actually loves the atmosphere and surrounding as it is really cosy with the warm lighting. And the basement area reminiscent of a Bulgarian cottage. We were seated at the basement area as it is a non-smoking area.

IMG_4792

Upon browsing the menu, we do not know what to expect since we were really new to the Bulgarian food. Me and baby decided to ordered "Chicken Stroganov" and Jay ordered some pork ribs which actually turned out really tasty while Leng ordered a basket of potato wedges which only cost RM5.00. Cheap huh!! We ordered the wedges as well in the end. Couldn't resist the temptation.

Perhaps on the next trip, I would opt to try something more unique.

Homemade Cake

I have made a homemade marble cake for the youth cellgroup last Friday, since it was my baby's turn to bring some food. He's out of idea on what to bring so I have suggested to him why not a homemade cake since I felt a compelling urge to bake one. In another way, I get to sharpen my skills in making cakes to perfections. Who knows, I might own a homemade cake business in the near future. Whoa... a boss!!

IMG_4775

Anyway, this is not my first time baking cakes. But this is my first attempt in making a marble cake. Surprisingly, at the end of the day, I got a nice marble cake as it is nicely moist with a light-pound cake texture, considering this is my first. (not the appearance of the top layer because I'm still learning how to swirl the choco into a better design & should have add more choco to make it darker)

IMG_4781

I've considered this a success for my first attempt but it will be a process of trial and error to bake the perfect cake. Plain as it may look, the result of this marble cake is most satisfying as my baby & some of them told me that it actually tasted good. *happy*
Guess I gotta keep on experimenting.

What's next?? Angel food cake, jellies..?? What says you??

Hard Rock Hotel

Saturday, 03.10.2009 marked the first time I visited the legendary Hard Rock Hotel in Penang. It is situated along the scenic, famous beaches of Batu Feringghi. Since my baby and Joseph were performing on that night in the lobby lounge, I've decided to tag along. Me and my baby were just so amazed and the next thing I knew, my baby's camera went clicking non-stop.

This hotel is something completely different from the regular hotel in Penang. You might agree with this once you see the pictures below.

One thing in common that me and my hubby have - we both are SUSHI LOVERS!! Often times, I would suggest Sushi if you were to ask me what to have for lunch or dinner. It's a craving that I can't seem to shake it off.

Last Saturday, my baby decided to treat me. So, off we went to Sushi King to satisfy our desired craving for sushi. Often times, we would have a set of Kodomo Bento to share so that we could save some space in our stomach for our favorites.

Notable Picture

Found a picture of myself when I was searching for something in my room. It brought back some memories. I still remember vividly the day my grandparents took me to snap this shot at Padang Tembak. Just to let you know I just woke up from my afternoon nap, if you are wondering how come my face looks like this.

Strangers to Lovers

Now....this is the story of the love of my life. Guess you guys would like to know how do we both end up as lovers. You might not believe this or even laugh about it after reading this.

Here goes the story....

We once used to study in the same college in Penang. Frankly, we do not know each other, but we do know who we are. I got to know his name through some Prom thingy as he is one of the candidate, and I must admit, the most good looking among them. Well, he obviously do have a lot of fans cheering and supporting him to be the next Prom King. I guess he broke his fan's heart the minute he withdrew from the competition.

Throughout the 2 years of college, I do not take any interest in him, even to the point of being a friend. It just doesn't interest me a particle. So does he. Both of us been occupied with things going on in our very own life as we move forward to the next stage of episode of life in KL.

I must say that life in KL is tense where there were tightening schedules of classes, never-ending exams, and too occupied with the entertainment in the city that never sleeps. Once, I saw him around the area where I stayed and there's another time where I saw him somewhere near the entrance of the college. Actually, it's a compound which comprise of a stretch of lecture classes where his Uni and my college shared. Honestly, I did not know whether is him or his twin brother. I did not pay much attention in differentiating who is who back in the early years of college. It really confuses me that moment but I couldn't be bothered at all. Like I said, it doesn't interest me at all.

Then came one day, I was busy replying testimonial to my cousin in Friendster where I saw his account. My cousin knew him through some society they joined. Out of nowhere, with the curiosity and itchiness of my hand, I clicked his account. I never really seen him that upclose in real life, so a photo would do best and maybe might even stumble upon a photo of his gf if he had one. So, I think that's the curiosity that kills me.

But it just never occurred to me to get his message and to know that somehow I look familiar to him. There we go, replying each other talking about how we get to know who we are, that he's this prom candidate and etc. From friendster to msn to sms and until the point where we got the courage enough to talk on the phone. It always feels comfortable talking to him. I never know why but it's just this trust that I have in him. I don't know where or how it come but I knew it's there.

After months and months getting to know each other a little deeper, I knew he will be a close friend of mine. So, we hang out together and I gotta admit that at first, it's kinda awkward but we managed to get over it. As time passes by, we hang out more often and slowly, things started to change. Something has evolved in us. But we take things slow.. to make sure.

Then there's this outing which changed our life forever. You see, both of us encounter some incident of our own few years ago. The very incident of his own and mine left us mending our brokenness and questioning ourselves the readiness for a new relationship when the time comes. Apparently, he decided to give it a try and so do I. And the rest, well...you know is history.

I have never regretted I give this relationship a try at that very moment and I thank God for giving us this chance and bringing him into my life. This relationship, it is different than anything else we had experienced. I had never thought that I would meet someone as loving as he is, the sureness that he is the one and had my whole unattached life planned out.

In this coming October 15, it would be our 2nd year anniversary. We are glad we have made it this far and still going strong with the ups and downs, the mixtures of joys and sorrows.

We knew we will made it much more further... forever and of course, keep getting stronger!!

Blog revamped!!

I have gotten my dull blog a fairly big design update, as you might see already. Took kinda a while to do it, Been busy searching for suitable templates and it took me a while to edit the HTML thingy as I'm not all that good with the coding part.

So far... successful in editing the templates but the header, hmmm....might need more time. Oh well, what to do since I'm kinda a noob in IT field. Couldn't really blame me for taking more time. Get to learn new things these few days. Just got to know how easy it is to blend photos together in numerous ways. Yah...I'm outdated!! Ugh..!! Regret that I did not pay much attention or even have a little interest in IT. See how tough it goes for me now.

Please ignore my current header as it is still under construction. I'm kinda satisfied with the blog outlooks now anyway. What do you think??

From foe to friend

We all have our friends, some who you have a close-bonded friendship or some "Hi-Bye" friends. But no matter what, we always do have someone who always mean more than just a friend, or should I say the best of all friends, our BEST FRIEND...whom we exudes trust, whom we confide all our deep-thoughts to when you were in elementary days, all through high school and in college.

I have mine too, my bestest best friend! Her name is Ashley. Where do I begin to babble on about Ashley?? Let's start on how we get to be so close, and if memory serves me right, we are actually two persons from two different worlds where we don't have anything in common until we really get to know each other.

Before we get even close to being friend, we were ENEMIES!! Yes...I've said it, enemies!! Can you imagine that we used to go to the same kindergarten, and in the same class as well. But it never really serves as a part of my memory until the class photo came into the picture.

Alright, let's fast forward to Primary 4. This would really sound silly but whenever me and Ash brought this up, we could not stop laughing at our very own puerile. You can't really blame us, after all we were once childlike. You see, we used to sit with our own friends who we always mingled with. Then one day, our class teacher decided to switch our places because according to her, we were loquacious. She arranged me to sit beside Ash. Gosh!! Ever since then, we loathe each other soooo much until the point of separating our table and gave verbal warning that if anything *like eraser, pencil, ruler... you name it* happened to cross mine or her boundaries, I am going to throw it away...like really away!! *ferocious huh!! that's what you get for awakening the little cub within*

You see, we still don't like nor mix with each other until we proceed to secondary, that's when our friendship starts to blossom. I don't know how or when or what that starts drawing us closer but I'm definitely happy that it happened. We really became good friends ever since that time. And I'm proud to say that we have been best friends for a decade..and still counting!! And the ordinary occurrences that seem comical to us was that sometimes some teacher really do get confused with us because they said we both look kinda alike. *Instead of calling us by our own name, our name were switched* We were like..."Whatt!! Where got!! Which part??!!"

Our favorite past time, of course would be having our "mee-suah" conversation and hanging out doing shopping and silly things together. She has become a part of my family..always will be!!

Along the way, we, of course have found some good friends we love soooo much and still loving them. We hang out as a group, but to me...I would consider them as "Family" and we will always remain as a family, no matter what! You guys know who you are!!

I don't know what else to tell you about her. We've been through a lot together and I'm glad all of this revolves around FUN!! I could probably go on and on for pages but I think even Ash would dozed off reading it so I won't. Instead, I'm gonna tell her how much I love her!!

Before I forget, her big day is around the corner...so, Happy Birthday Darling!!~ *tight hugs & noisy kisses*

Our friendship will never come to an end...!!

Need a background change??

I've been thinking about freshening my blog a bit but it is always hard to find a background that suits what you want. And since I'm not a programmer, it would definitely pose a zero chance for me in creating a design that I have in mind.

As I was searching for templates, I fumble across these 2 blogs which provide a wide range of awesome, lovely and unique background designs. They are so wonderfully appeasing to the eye. I love all the designs, especially the floral design (my favorite). When I found these 2 blogs, I said to myself that these are just what I had in mind.

And did I mention that it's free??

The instructions are so simple to follow and frankly, with these blogs.... they really make your life easy. Thanks to them!!

*warning to you : it's tough to choose, but easy to use*

I personally love them all and always have a hard time deciding which one to use. I could choose a new one every day and not get tired of it!! So, I guess I will keep on changing my background seasonally..... but I think I need to go with my first. I just spruced up my blog with this background. *this green flowery but I think it'll look better without the bows*

So, if you ever wondered how people got those nice blog backgrounds, fear not!!...because you are about to get one too!! You can simply get these amazing designs by visiting: *these 3 are my favorites*
  1. Aqua Poppy Designs 2
  2. Shabby Blogs
  3. Templates by Tenile
Other blogs....
Another way would be... just googled "blog background" and you can find hundreds of them.

Have fun in searching what's best suited you!!!

Emotionally gripping

Remember that I once said I am so anxiously love to indulge in this novel "My Sister's Keeper"??
Well, last week I managed to drag myself to Popular to own this book. Without a split second, I'm hooked to this book, as I have expected.

What more can I say but it really keep me up way too late at night because all I care about is what happens next and I ended it with a whole bucket of tears. I am not ashamed to say that I cried reading this, absolutely devastated but it was beautiful.

It may be a cliched to say that this is "a must-read," but it is true. If anyone has read the book, all they can talk about is how the ending affected the emotionally. This is one hell of an extremely powerful, poignant and heart wrenching story that grabs hold of me to the extent that I am completely caught up in emotions and as always, it was thought-provoking!! Read it and let me know what you think....and how you feel.

Right now, I am waiting for the movie. Heard that it was great.

*I have these two novels in mind that I would like to read next, The Time Traveler's Wife & Escaping Daddy. Any other great novels to recommend??*

New visitor

Here's something new....I have a new visitor. Probably you will be guessing who's this new visitor.

Well, he will be staying with me for a week until his owner's (my cousin) boyfriend comes back to pick him up. I do hope that he will find this one week stay with me comfortable...or should I say the other way round.

Frankly speaking, he's a cute little kitty. Just 6 months old but the size doesn't seems to say so. He's expensive, what can I say... a Persian cat!! So, I guess I need to keep a close watch at him or else this gonna leave a big big hole in my pocket...

Vagabond...

I don't know where I stand
I don't know what I will become
I don't know what I want
I wish I could turn back the time so I could undo what I have done
so I won't be in such a haste, but pause to put on my thinking cap
I am a little dazed by my own insanity and stupidity
I know wishes don't always come true..especially this one...

Everything is so whimsical at that time
How nice if I am prepared in the right frame of mind and broaden my exposure to face the arduous and painful process
If only I am not dubious on myself
If only I endure....

I have always wonder will there be another opened door for me
The same one when I am all psyched up
Should I say us..
Or a better, greater one which I am not bound to know yet..

I have lost my train of thought
Aimlessly drifting
Could you tell me where I am, not geographically..but in existentialist way
A question that has been eating away at me for quite sometime...

Where do you stand??

Just indulge....

Saturday 15.08.09

Baby and I decided to hang out at Island Plaza Coffee Bean since he has a free coupon of RM10 as a gift from Yinhooi for his birthday. A weekends/weekdays in this little corner has always been a perfect spot for relaxation, furthermore we need a short escape.

I just love the smell of the roasted coffee beans whenever I walk in the coffee house (Coffee Bean & Starbucks) where it wakes your senses as well as the ambiance where it is always racy yet cozy and quite mellow which set the mood for a comfortable drink.

I love to head to a coffee house coupled with some good novels, grab some food or beverages *especially green tea rhumba cream frappucino...my favorite!!* and just enjoy the ambiance while you dig into your favorite novel. And I can honestly say that Starbucks is my favorite reading holes.

Well, we sat there for a while. And..... with such nice atmosphere, we couldn't help but to camwhore a little! *as usual...tee-hee..*

Just a little....
