What a day!

12th November 2009, around 7.30 - 8 p.m :

Car broke down in the middle of a traffic jam. While I was driving back from Queensbay Mall, I've realized that it's getting hot in the car. Hot air is coming out from the air-con, then suddenly I noticed that the needle in my car temperature gauge went up to the red zone and white smoke is coming out from my car hood. Worst thing was I am not only stuck in a traffic jam but I was somewhere near the roundabout. I knew that this was a bad place to pull over when there was just only two lanes to use. *Imagine how congested it would be* On the other hand, I knew that if I did not pull over, my car would really be in a deep trouble.

Without hesitating, I turned off the engine. Put on the hazard lights. Waited for a few minutes to let the car cool down. I panicked because I was scared that the car engine might explode within any seconds. *Wild imagination huh* Called my mum, told her everything and asked have I check and filled in water into the coolant reservoir tank? I said it has already been filled a few weeks ago. I remembered it vividly so does my baby.

Restart the engine and drove my car quickly to a safe spot rather than in a congested road before the temperature gauge gets close to the red zone. I examined the coolant reservoir tank and realized that the water level is quite low. But it's not possible because I knew me and baby just refilled it not long ago. Well, maybe it's possible as well since we used this car quite often.

Anyway, I refilled the tank with water. *it would always be safe to leave a bottle of water in the car, in case of emergency* Waited for a few minutes before restarting the engine. Watch the temperature gauge obsessively in case the needle approaches the red zone again.

But fortunately, everything seems fine on the way back. Thank God! What a day huh!! But it's a great learning experience.

PHOP

PHOP

Today, I went to Queensbay with my mum and my eldest sis. My sis decided to bring us to Paddington House of Pancakes for lunch. It is my first try, so does my mum. They have a wide variety of mouth-watering pancakes in their menu, from starter to main course to dessert. My immediate response when I browse the menu was I would really like to order each of the pancakes listed there. I really had a hard time making up my mind on which one to order as there are so many choices.

In the end, three of us opt for the new promotion that they have just launched past 2 weeks, PHOP's Around-The-World Set Lunch. I forgot the name of the pancakes (main course) they do offered in the set lunch but it come with a free beverage and a special dessert, PHOP's mini dollar pancake sundae. All these are available for only RM13.80++ per set and it is only available during weekdays from 12 - 3 pm. *I am sorry about this post with no photos because I forgot to recharge my camera's battery. Ugh!!*

I'm amazed by how you can do so much with a simple pancake by adding a twist to it. I guess it's time for some kitchen experiment on this. Overall, a thumbs up!

And I can't wait to savor on more of their pancakes on the next trip with my baby.

My Japs Friends

I have a wonderful, amazing sweet Japanese friends! Never regret the chance of getting to know them as they really plays a part in colouring my life. I hope they would stumble across my blog and read this post, realizing how much I miss them and reminisce those moments that we shared!! I'm glad that all of us get along very well.

I miss my flatmate, Akemi who is a good cook & typically has no temper at all. *I'm serious about the temper thingy* She's just like a sister to me. And my sweet babe Ayumi. Of course Yuki, Hanae, Kyoko, Yumi, Nagisa & Makiko too. They too, are totally like Akemi who shows no temper tantrums in spite of what situations they are facing. They are just so..... calm.

Does all Japanese are trained to be free from temper tantrums?? I wonder how they do that. I guess they really do have a high tolerance level than any of us here.

Fettes Park Baptist Kindy's Concert

A couple of weeks ago, Fettes Park Baptist Kindergarten organized a kindy's concert. I volunteered to be as a helper for the concert. Prior to the concert, I was asked to help to guide the kids in their schoolwork (one of the class) for few days as a chance to get to know the kids and vice versa. It was definitely a few days which I enjoyed! My baby offered his service to be a traffic warden to ease the traffic outside the church on the day of the concert itself as there will be lots of parents showing up to watch their kids performing.

Basically I was there to lend a hand in changing their costumes, tie their hair and applying make-up for the kids. At the same time, I had fun playing with the kids. Though they might be naughty at times and some are uncontrollable *headache*, yet they still look adorable.

A few are my favorite ones.

My baby definitely agree with me that this girl is the most adorable.

Overall, FPBK put up an amazing concert and I can see that all the parents are enjoying the performance and so do I. I bet the parents are surely proud of their children as the kids really did a great job!

I think I would like to be a kindergarten teacher when I am retired from my working world for I believe with kids around, it creates a healthy work environment as you get to be a part of their world of innocence and purity. Besides that, you get a chance to laugh with them, think their way and enjoy their "innocently silly and healthy mischievous' behavior". I trust that this could serves as an effective stress buster! Don't you agree??
