Pondering...

Long long time ago, I always have this plan to adopt a puppy and I guess now it is time to do so. I'm all excited about it. BUT... I don't know which breed should I get? Perhaps a Shih Tzu, or a Mini Schnauzer, or a Cocker Spaniel, or a Yorkshire Terrier? And if I buy, it will cost me a few hundreds. *pokai* Or should I wait for my sister's boyfriend's soon-to-be-puppies? ( but it will still take a long time *pout lips* )

Hmmm..actually, I love Yorkshire Terrier. They are soooooo tiny and adorable. But it costs a BOMB! Last year, my best friend bought a Yorkshire Terrier. She named her little April Star. Well, me and several of our friends planned to fork out some money to buy her a puppy of her preference as her birthday present since her little Pixie Pumpkin, a Shih Tzu went missing.

Poor little Pixie... I miss you!!

Since we bought her a puppy as a gift, from then onwards, we are Little April Star's AUNTIES! Look at her!! Isn't she irresistible?? She is so cute that you just want to take her in your arms, pinch her, her hug and kiss her!! Sometimes she is kinda mischievous but still a loveable puppy!!

Grown up April...and still growing

Hmmm... so now, should I buy or should I wait for the pups? Buy? Wait? Buy? Wait? *Headaches*

What says you??

More and more novels..

Have you ever come across Jodi Picoult's novels? If yes, do you love her novels? If you ask me what is it like to love her novels, I would say that every piece of her novels is thought-provoking and have several shocking twists to the plot that make the story even more riveting. What I love most about her books is that it underscore areas of moral ambiguity and usually deal with controversial issues.

Jodi Picoult is the bestselling author of 15 novels. She wrote her first novel, "Songs of the Humpback Whale" when she was pregnant with her first child.

The first novel of Jodi's that I read was "Change of Heart" and since then, I've been hooked. It is so full of suspense that it was a page turner. She just know how to write emotionally gripping books that makes the readers want more and more of it.

Change of Heart

June Nealon was looking forward to years full of laughter and adventure with her family, but now she is staring into a future as empty as her heart - waiting for time to heal her wounds, for justice, for a miracle.

Shay Bourne's l
ife holds no suprises, until he gets one last chance for salvation that lies with June's young daughter, Claire. But between Shay and Claire are bitter regrets and the rage of a mother who has lost her child.

Father Michael devoted his life to God, but Shay makes him question everything he's been taught to believe about religion, about good and evil, about forgiveness. About himself.

Some books grab you and you just can't out them down until you finish it. Well, this is one of them. It immediately grips me with it's exciting, intense plot and YOU JUST CAN"T PUT IT DOWN!

Ever since then, I took myself to the Borders and bought two more of Jodi's novels which is "Keeping Faith" & "The Tenth Circle". I'm half way through Keeping Faith, yet the other one, still nicely lying on my table waiting for me to lay my hands on it and without a split second, I bet it would be another Can't-Put-'Em-Down Classics.

Let me walk you through an entry to a short synopsis of:

Keeping Faith

When Mariah White catches her husband with another woman, her life starts to fall apart. And when her daughter, Faith, begins to confide in an imaginary friend, her own brush with insanity starts to take on a darker meaning.

Then Faith appears to start performing miracles, and all at once the situation is spiralling beyond Mariah's control. Is Faith truly seeing God? Or is she just a troubled little girl seeking refuge from her parents' divorce?
When it comes to matters of faith, it's hard to know who to believe..
.

The Tenth Circle

Trixie Stone is fourteen years old and in love for the first time. She's also the light of her father's life - a straight-A student; a freshman in high school who is pretty and popular, a girl who's always looked up to Daniel Stone as a hero. Until, that is, her world is turned upside down with a single act of violence..and suddenly everything Trixie has believed about her family- and herself - seems to be a lie.

But there is this one novel which I am anxiously LOVE to indulge in is "My Sister's Keeper". For those who might not know, My Sister's Keeper is about to be a feature film starring Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin and Alec Baldwin. The movie is to be released in somewhere June or July 2009. As for me, I recommend reading the book before you see the movie because most of the time the book is BETTER!! ( Hmmm.. I can't wait to take myself to the Borders, scan through the shelf and happily take this book home with me!! )

My Sister's Keeper

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood.

The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister - and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable… a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

If you haven't already read any of Jodi's novels, what are you waiting for?? Grab one of her novels at the nearest bookstore and get lost in it.

Don't be surprised if you pick up a Jodi's book that keep you up way too late at night reading
because all you will care about is what happens next. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT DOWN!!

Have a good laugh!!

3392228654_f9a846a65e

Yesterday, my baby and I decided to watch Night at the Museum 2 at 1 Utama. We planned to watch the 2.30 p.m. show. And can you believe it that we're still on our way to 1 Utama when our watch was showing 2.20 p.m. We thought we're going to be late but luckily, it was weekday so there are not much people queueing up to buy the ticket. So, we manage to get our ticket just in the nick of time before the show starts.

Frankly speaking, I love this movie!! I pretty like the idea where all the statues, photographs and fossils come to life after dark. It is marvellous!!! ( How I wish I can have a museum like this ) The new group of historical characters indeed have their own funny actions like The Thinker where he has a crush on the female statue and trying to impress her by showing off his muscles saying "Boom! Boom!...Fire Power!" And not to forget, the Egyptian pharaoh, Kahmunrah. He's kinda childish yet funny and entertaining. And and and....the Albert Einstein Bobbleheads!! Awww...they are so cuteee and adorable!!

I guess I'm gonna download this movie and watch it over and over again to have a good laugh. As we always say, "Laughter is always the best medicine!!"

Your choices of snack food..

What's your favourite snack food?? For me, I love chocolates, ice-creams, french fries, onion rings but not so much of a chips fan. I don't know why but I do have some mood swing in craving for chips. But, one of my favourite snack food ever since I'm small would be the Chinese snack which is popular at street hawkers especially in Penang. So, can you guess what it is??

Well, the Chinese snack that I'm talking about is MUAR CHEE (Glutinous Rice). To me, my best-loved muar chee seller would be the uncle at Gurney Drive.

My first choice Muar Chee seller

Muar Chee from Gurney Drive

Last night, out of nowhere, I have this craving for Muar chee. So, off to Genting Klang we went since we decided to have our dinner there. I have bought a packet of muar chee from an aunty after our dinner. I still remember vividly the first time I have bought a packet of muar chee at Wangsa Maju. To my suprise, it does not come with the plain flavored glutinous rice that we usually seen in Penang but with various flavoured like pandan, choco, mango, strawberry and many others. I couldn't help thinking but I guess Muar chee has evolved over the years.

Muar Chee KL Style : Plain, Pandan & Choco flavoured

However, we are not the only one who loves muar chee as it is an important food in Japanese culture as well. The Japanese would call this MOCHI (kinda similiar to the way we call it). During the Japanese New Year's holiday, they would usually cook mochi with soup where they call it OZOUNI (Mochi Soup) as it is part of their tradition.

Mochi

Ozouni

I have taste Ozouni before. My ex-flatmate who is a Japanese cooked Ozouni as dinner for me. Honestly speaking, I love it very much. It taste so different depending on the ingredients you choose yet it is so delicious to consume. Awww..speaking of this, I realised I miss her very much!!

However, always remember that cooked mochi is indeed very sticky, so becareful not to choke it when you are consuming. It's important to take a small bite at a time as quite a few people in Japan, mostly ELDERLY, die across Japan from choking on mochi.

Infectious eye

A few days ago, my baby complained about a little tiny pain in his right eye. Certainly we're not worried or bothered about it as this is not his first time having the same symptoms. But of course, we're hoping that it would not be the same infection that he had a few months ago on the same eye.

So, what we do is to wait for a few more days to have a better view of 'what-the-eye-will-become.'

After a few days...

Aww...Poor litle baby!

Swelling and at times, some discharge that is watery or may contain pus is what his right eye turns out to be. I don't know how and what causes this as it is the fourth time he had such thing.

I'm not sure what this infection thingy is called but we have visited the doctor for the first & second time he got this and was told of some allergic reaction to SOMETHING which resides in his eyelid. So, the doctor prescribed him with antibiotics and some eye cream but it takes time to heal completely for like a week even though with the medication.

However, we ain't visiting the doctor this time. So, right now, all he doing is applying some eye cream and pray that he will recover in no time. Guess it would take longer since there is no antibiotics.
